Then again, it could just be a bad bulb.

I have an 84 mustang that required a box assembly at the rear because it has separate brake lights from turn signal lights(same brightness, on most cars, same socket). It is apparently some type of a relay, but I know it fixed my problem! I was towing a boat with a 4 pin, no 7 pin involved. Randy

I was wondering what the difference is between a 6 way connector and a 7 way. I have a 2003 Sequoia and am getting ready to pull a small TT with electric brakes. I have the factory 4 way pigtail and will be buying an electronic braking module and I guess 7 way plug to mount back by the hitch. I was looking on and saw that they also sold 6 way round pigtail connectors. I am assuming most (all?) new TT's use the 7 way connector? I also pull a utility trailer and my 4000lb boat, but the boat uses surge brakes since it has to go in the water.

Any suggestions on good electronic brake modules? I have seen them range from $75 (probably too cheap) to $150 on Any other good sources? I like how many of the products sold on have instructional videos.

Once I install the 7 way connector, I will get the adapater to adapt it back to 4 way when hooking up my boat or utility trailer since they just have the 4 way pigtail.

The difference between a 6 way and 7 way is the 7 way includes a line for backup lights.

You can easily buy a 7 way socket with a 4 way adapter. The one I got from U-Haul also has a 12 volt cigar lighter socket for accessories.
