1 yr anniversary today with 2014 400bh

The factory warranty is up and I have about 10k on the odometer.

Issues had and fixes under warranty

1) bunk house slide motor replaced.
2) minor various wood trim replaced
3) hydraulic system pump and manifold replaced.
4) molding around dinette replaced that was broken by dealer while fixing the hydraulic slide and jack system. They put the slide braces on the trim and and when the faulty hydraulic system pushed the slide out it broke all the trim.

Other than those issues I have had a great experience with my berk and would buy it again in a second. Hopefully all the bugs are worked out now and with just have many more years of happiness with it.

Not a bad list at all. I had the bunk slide motor break on mine also. So have a few other members. Glad you're happy with it.

I also had bunk slide cables break. Didn't realize the back door on top in bedroom popped open after driving and stopped the slide from opening and busted cables. Expensive lesson learned on my 2011 BH

Had a few myself on my 2013 390RB:

Girard Hot water heater was replaced at factory;
paint blemish repaired at factory;
rough edges on kitchen slide below sofa repaired at factory;
jack landing pads replaced;
power control module on dometic refrigerator replaced;
basement leak repaired;
cable on basement door replaced;
bad splice on wiring harness for dash fan repaired;
heater ducts in kitchen slide behind sofa repaired;

Made a few improvements. Would purchase again in a heartbeat. Love the Berkshire!

Glenn,
We must have bought ours at the same time. I'm also finishing my first year with factory warranty. I had the bunk slide motor issue as well, my compressor went out on the residential fridge, alignment covered by freight liner, new wiring harness for running lights & had a jack replaced that was leaking during our initial walk through.

Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the Berk and we are looking forward to a busy year with plenty of camping trips on the books. - The only thing I could put back on Forest River would be to proactively replace the defective motors on our bunks before we all had them go down while in use.

My year will be up March 10.
Furnace replaced
Rear AC replaced.
Bad splice in a/c wiring
Paint blemish/cracked fiberglass
Front end aligned
Ride height valves replaced
New front tires due to pulling to one side
Heater duct loose
Refrigerator water and ice maker
Bad slide motor scheduled for tomorrow hopefully

We still love the Berk and hope to keep up with any more items at Goshen.

Trying to decide by tomorrow between a brand new 2014 400bh with all the upgrades and 360 hp and a used 2014 390bh 340 hp with about 12,000 miles with a 2014 jeep included for the same price?

New one through a dealer, used one private..

Wow. Either motor is big enough. I wouldn't worry there. The 12,000 mile really no issue. A 2014 still on dealer lot should be quite a bargain I'd guess. So do you have a toad now?? And how bad do you want a jeep??

Real tough one. What model jeep is it? 4 door or 2 door? does it have a good tow bar and brake system with it?

I have the 14 because I like the interior upgrades better but I also know how much the a jeep 4door rubicon cost.

I hope my 14 400bh didn't depreciate that much in one year.

More important then the 5,000 lb rating of the hitch on the 340 HP, is the GCWR of 33,000 lbs. This is the Allison 2500 MH limit. You need to figure the coach loaded weight, plus that of the Jeep.

The coach is 2014 chassis 2013. We decided to go with that deal with the jeep!
