2008 Berk 360QS Tire Question

I'm seriously considering the purchase of my first motorhome - a 2008 Berkshire 360QS (with the optional Mercedes diesel engine). The coach is a real beauty, but it is in need of new tires.

Current tires are Michelin XRV 255/80R22.5 LRG's (on aluminum rims). If I buy the coach, should I replace these with the same series or are there better options available now? I would welcome comments and suggestions from current owners or FR/Freightliner reps.

You can go with 275/80R22.5 LRG. Some of us have already done that to help an over-weight problem on later model 390's. The bigger tires SHOULD fit your aluminum rims with no problems.

You should also consider the fit in the wheel wells, and finally your speedometer/odometer/computer will need to be re-programmed.

I'm NOT a FR or FL rep. Only way to know for sure if you need bigger tires would be to weigh the coach.

Thanks for the info. Short of ordering the tires, is there a way to determine if they will fit the aluminum rims? This is all new to me, so please forgive newbie ignorance...

John I agree with Boo here. I would suggest weighing your MH and then contacting FL in Gaffney SC to see what will work with your MH. We can all guess about what is best but you need the info from the scales to determine your needs. If you are in weight tolerance there is no need to do a upgrade on the tires or suspension. A 2008 with out tile floors will most likely be fine but you need to weigh it. If you decide to upgrade Gaffney will be a good source of info to get you setup. They have done this upgrade several times. Also there is a lot of info on this subject use the search function and read up on the topic. Welcome to the forum and good luck with the Berkshire it's a great MH and will give you years of faithful service.
