2011 Bershire 390BH sofa stops

Has anyone ever removed the two rubber stops that are bolted in behind the top of the sofa? The back of my sofa sits to far forward for my comfort. I took the stops out along with the long bolt holding them. I did put a 6 inch section of a swim noodle spilt up the middle (cable tied in place) on each bar to keep them from digging into the side out wall.

Just wondering if anyone has messed with these stops and what kind of success or troubles that resulted. Thanks!

So, did that help? I was thinking of trying as the sofa is awful as is, even my small wife cannot sit comfortably.

Great idea. I will look at mine and change it as well. I just got my RV and it's a terrible design. I guess the 2012 sofa is redesigned and is more reclined.

So far no problems or marks. It really made the couch more comfortable.

The mod we are looking at is to take out the love seat on the passenger side and replace it. That love seat must have been designed by the Marquis de Sade as it is the most uncomfortable seat. We are looking to putting a desk or more cabinets in the place where the love seat is. Mostly it is used as kind of dumping station for stuff while we are camping and even while we are driving. If we are going to put stuff there, it might as well be out of sight.

Below are some pictures as to what I did. Now that they have been on place for a while, I am finding that once the noodles have been compressed for a period of time, they stay compressed, which is not good. I did thread a noodle through the strap in the middle of the back of the sofa, which tends to help. I am now looking for some heavy foam waffle material that will replace the noodles over the ends of the iron legs. I have also thought of taking of the metal leg bar entirely and reinstalling it if I need the sofa for a bed (which will not be many times - none to date). All of this stuff is "jery rigged, as I have no engineering background. All suggestion are welcome. Right now I have gained room on "reclining" the sofa back, which has made it more comfortable, without marring the slide out wall.n

Love seat

I have not tried the sofa but I change the love seat. I took out the four bolts holding it to the floor. I then tilted it foward. It has two metal brackets on the backside. I took off the left side and turned it upside down and attached it to the right side in the same holes. I did the same to the other side. Tilted seat back in place and back of seat just touches wall. Seats alot better.
