What option dictates whether you get a 340 or 360 Cummins in your DP?

I have a 340 which is Great, no problems. Just wondering.

I have 7500 miles on mine and only had one Warranty issue..... The bed slide out motor needed adjusted because of binding noise.

My dealer fixed it while I waited without an appointment!

One Happy Camper!

They were built both ways, 340 or 360 HP. There are quite a few things different on the 360. For example a larger transmission, larger tires, heavier front airbags, aluminum wheels, higher cargo and towing capacity, etc. So if you are thinking it's just a chip change or something for the higher horsepower, it is a lot more than that and were built that way during the manufacturing process

Well it happened. The bed slide wont go out again. What is the deal? I have 3 different mechanisms that move the slides....Hydraulic, Gear, and Cable. What have you guys done to remedy the problem?

Sand Dog - The Bed Slide problem is covered thoroughly in the thread that Silver listed.

As a word of caution, even when fixed it can reoccur over and over as you are seeing. Also another word of caution that all mechanics are equal and I highly recommend that you get your nose into the repair (so that you don't have a botched job) or do it yourself.

Is this bed also used on the new 38A.just purchased at Dylans in NJ and maybe I should have it looked at while other problems are being taken care of?

I forgot to mention you cannot get to the motor when the slide is in so you are going to have to mussel it out first. I have removed my motor cover and left it off for this reason. Don't need the extra weight and it does nothing.
