2015 Berkshire 38A Inverter

Took delivery of new coach last week and am having trouble with the inverter. All receptacles are working off inverter except the residential refrigerator. Is there another step I am missing other than turning the inverter on?

Never heard of having to do anything but turn on the inverter for fridge to work in a Berkshire.
I assume it will work on shore power or generator? But not inverter?

do not take this as gospel. I was doing research on how a residential refrigerator can run on both shore power and inverter. obviously the refrigerator only has one power cord coming into it. so where do you pug it in; the shore power receptacle or the inverter. it turns out there is a small transfer switch just for the refrigerator. you plug the refrigerator into it and it connects to both the shore power and the inverter and supplies power from either to the refrigerator.

Try plugging the reefer into a known good inverter receptacle and make sure it runs. Also check for a tripped GFI receptacle.

I am having quite the same problem with my 2015 Georgetown. The refrigerator works on shore power or generator, but not on DC. Mine is a three-way, i.e. it also works on propane. Neither DC nor propane work. I too have checked for the GFCI outlet and found that it is not tripped. Interestingly, next to the entrance step, there is an on/off push switch. It is labeled, "Prowatt SW" and has an indicator light that doesn't come on regardless of the switch position. My suspicion is that this indicates a bad inverter, or there is some switch-over mechanism that is not making the transition from AC to DC or propane. (If it's a bad inverter, how is that confirmed?) Looking forward to hearing of your solution.

Have either of you who are having this problem looked at the inverter? There should be a reset button or possibly a fuse on the inverter itself. That may have tripped.

Don't know about your specific model but on my Sandpiper I have to turn the battery switch to on and then turn on the inverter to run the refrigerator. I woud imagine that your lights are running off the battery without involving the inverter. In my 355RE the inverter and the battery shut off switch affect only the refrigerator.

The only thing I had to do was turn on the controller inside and it switches from shore to inverter seamlessly.

OK. I found the inverter an resolved the problem. I opened the compartment that has the black cover inside and there was the Prowatt inverter...in a full-sized basement compartment with nothing else in it. There, mounted on the inverter is a white GFCI outlet. It has the refrigerator plugged into one outlet and the other is unused. When I pressed the GFCI reset, the refrigerator came! But. it also required me to push the "Prowatt SW" switch next to the inside entry steps. Surprisingly, everything worked, but the light above the switch didn't come on. (Could be just burned out.) But, that leaves me with one question. Prior to this recent incident, we never worried about power to the refrigerator. As we travelled down the road, the refrig was always on which means it switched over automatically after disconnecting from shore power. So, why isn't it doing it now?

Seems your new model is quite different than other Berkshires I have seen. Sounds like you are saying you have two inverters, one for refrigerator and one for all the other outlets?

No, I have a single Magnum 2000 watt inverter which is supposed to power the residential fridge along with the televisions and other outlets. When turned on, everything works with the exception of the fridge. Thanks for the reply.
