Bob, if you could verify that, it would be helpful. I can't imagine a 43 foot coach with only two A/C units. Our 40 footer can't be cooled enough in extremely hot weather with the two 13.5 units so a 43 footer would have to be brutal to keep cool I would think.

Thanks Hank. I must have been so shocked to see the rig that I missed the obvious.

The new Berkshire XLT has 3 ACs. You can see them in the photo on the flyer.
To expand on this, the new Berkshire booklet lists as standard:
15,000 BTU with heat pump (front)
15,000 BTU (rear)
13,500 BTU (middle)
low profile A/C's dual zone with remote sensors
For furnaces, it has a 30,000 BTU and a 20,000 BTU rear furnace, although the best plan is just to go someplace where you don't need them.

Bob - Congratulations on your new coach. Question - Does the XLT have the Smart Wheel? I have been very disappointed that my Berkshire it is very difficult to flash the high beams, For one, the headlights must first be on and then it is a very clunky operation. Every domestic car for years have the have this standard. High beam flashing is a way of communicating to other vehicles, like when at a four-way stop and the car in front wants to make a left turn. - Hank

It does not. The smart wheel is included on the Charleston, but not on the Berkshire. We had it on our 2004 Sportscoach, and I miss it as well.

Bob - A lot of conveniences that were options are not no longer and are expected by the consumer. Items like turn signals (you probably didn't experience hand signals), air conditioner, power windows, intermittent wipers, cruise control, motorized side-view mirrors, etc. and yes high beam flasher are standard. I'm sure that FR is trying to keep the price point in check and probably feel nobody will miss them. When spending several hundred grand, the lack of high beam flashers (and also markers) is atrocious! Please get on FR's tail. - Hank

For what it is worth, the only rigs with a steerable tag axle are the Newmars and the Berkshire. No steerable tag on the Tiffins or Entgras, so that's a pretty nice to know that the Berks are going to be pretty special.

I saw a video the other day of a rig with the steerable tag axle. It was from Foretravel, but considerably more expensive than a Berk

In addition to the steerable tag, which is getting a lot of attention, the Berkshire XLT also features Freightliner's V-Ride Suspension System. Here's the information that RVBusiness posted about it when it was introduced at the RVIA Dealer Show in Louisville two years ago:
FCCC Unveils New ‘V-Ride’ Suspension System
December 4, 2013 by RVBusiness
Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) unveiled its V-Ride rear suspension system during this week’s 51st Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky.
According to a press release, the V-Ride is the first-ever single-axle rear suspension rated at 24,000 pounds, offering luxury motorhome manufacturers more options for floorplan designs and amenities while giving motorhome owners more towing capacity and flexibility. The V-Ride Rear Suspension System will be available as an option on the XC chassis from FCCC, beginning in model year 2015.
“The V-Ride is designed for today’s luxury motorhome owner who demands the ability to carry more gear and equip their coaches with more luxury amenities,” said J.P. Davis, RV product manager for FCCC. “And it’s more than just increased towing capacity that makes V-Ride unique and innovative – its proven design and engineering provide greater durability and a more stable, comfortable ride. It’s truly luxury without limits.”
The design and engineering of the V-Ride – already proven in heavy-duty applications – bring new features to the market that provide an improved overall driving experience, the company said. The suspension’s “v-rod”-shaped upper control arms help to dissipate suspension forces through the crossmember and frame rails, reducing stress throughout the suspension.
In addition, the V-Ride’s transverse beam is directly integrated with the trailing arm to form a single-piece U-shaped assembly. This unified design, combined with the v-rod control arms, reduces sway and provides a more stable motorcoach ride – especially in those instances when a motorcoach’s tendency is to lean or drift outward, as when traveling around a curve. Combined with its standard volumetric airbags, the V-Ride provides a smooth, stable, comfortable ride.
“The V-Ride maintains superior roll stability and more predictable handling throughout,” added Davis. “This gives motorhome owners a more confident driving experience in all road conditions.”

I had a chance to drive one of the steerable tag Newmars at the Hershey Show. It is a much different feel in terms of handling. For lack of a better term, I would say it is more sure footed. Granted, I am not used to driving a tag axle, but this one was more than a bit of an eye opener. Now if they could just add that emergency exit door.......

Maybe that's what we need to do....put together a wish list for Forest River. Let's see, we have an emergency exit door rather than emergency exit window and we have a smart wheel. Anyone else got anything to add to the wish list?
