2018 40BH First Look

First look at our 2018 40BH, pretty impressed with all the upgrades FR has done.

Awesome! Hope the 40C later this month is as nice. Noticed we too ordered the plank floors. Keep in touch with your newbie issues, if any.

To us the fan in the bedroom would be great, and I believe that they moved the DEF tank to the drivers side? and changed the latches to access the water tank/pump as well. A very nice looking unit you've got there, have a great time with it!

Only 2 a/c units but it should most likely have 3.

Beautiful coach. Like dash/gauge improvements. Also, if your ac's are 15k, they should be able to do the job in most instances. Only extreme climates should tax them. I have 13,500's in mine and have not had any real issues. If you are in extreme climates, Magne shades will definitely help.

I have a 2018 XL40B, on a recent outing with temps in the 95-100 degree range, our two 15K units sure could have used the help of a third unit. Next time, it's gonna be either earlier or much later calendar wise and we'll chose our site better to take advantage of the tree canopies!

Yeah out west I think the big Berk's could really use a 3rd during our summer months especially seeing how they love the dark colors.

We also have the MagneShade on our Berk. Since it blocks out the UV rays, it not only keeps it much cooler inside the coach, but it protects the dash from the baking sun. We also have a ceiling fan in the bedroom and the livingroom which helps to circulate the air. (even when the slides are in). My husband painted the top of the A/C cover on the roof white instead of the factory black which absorbed a lot of heat. He insulated the underside of the roof top A/C covers and the topside of the "shower dome" with silver reflective insulation. I really think our A/C units, not only keep up with the heat, but they don't cycle on/off nearly as often as before we added all these modifications. Special thanks goes out to Jim (Silver) for sharing these Berk modification tips and ideas with my husband at Goshen last year.

Thanks Rick and Karen I'll have to put that on my list. I did just today that FR has added on the Berk build sheet a 3rd a/c unit and upped the Genny to 10k for just under 3k.
Personally we haven't needed this but would help in initial cool down.
