Can I leave my Magnum ME-RC at the factory settings for now until I understand how it functions? Because it seems like my house batteries run out quick when I'm not hooked to shore power and all I have on is fridge.

What would you call quick? I did a test on my 390rb and the best you can expect it between six to eight hours. That assumes that your rig has four 6 volt batteries.

I agree between 6-8 hours. You could set up the magnum to auto start your generator if the battery voltage falls to whatever low voltage setting you select on the magnum. I believe you select the AGS and then set your preferences.

Thanks Dan and OldKey, I do have 4 bats and it did last that long, guess I thought with only the fridge running it would last longer. I could also run the fridge on propane correct?

tnbendr,
What brand of refrigerator is in your coach? If you have a residential refrigerator (ie. Whirlpool), that only runs on electric and not on propane.
Also, congrats on your new coach and welcome to the Forums.

We were all thinking you had a Residential Fridge that did NOT run on propane.

I don't know about your year model 08 is it?
On ours the Magnum ME-RC has a button called AGS to get to the programming.

Is your fridge the residential or dual gas and electric? If its the residential, your batteries may hold up about two days with the fridge on but if it's the dual electric or propane, the batteries should hold up about a week if you're not running anything else.

Thank you tmmar! Yes I have a residential fridge and just realized the real difference between that and an RV fridge. I'm good now, just bought a 100' heavy duty 12 gauge ext cord and plugged into house while we are getting ready...once were out on the road I can let the systems work as they are designed.
