3M coating on front end

Has anyone replaced the clear coating on the front end yet? If so how much to do it? This RV dealer just told me $1000. Seems too high.

What year is your Berkshire? If you have a Diamond Shield logo on the front it has a phone number. On Berkshires you have a lifetime warranty on it.

Thanks a lot Phil. I pick it up next week but they sent me pics and the coating has spider web cracks thru it. Its a 2011. I pick it up next Thurs and bring it back to Florida. Then I will have a lot of questions.

Well ask away someone will have a answer. The problem with removing the film is the paint often comes with it. FR used a product from 3M on some early Moho's. My 2011 has the DS.

Look carefully..... if the crazing is in the gelcoat, ie UNDER the DS, they're gonna point at FR....

Exactly! My spider cracks were in the fiberglass underneath the diamond Shield. It is at the corners of the generator door.

Just give it a good waxing & sealant, should be fine and much cheaper!

How is waxing going to solve the OP's problem with his Diamond Shield?

Do you have any idea what the OP is talking about? This is not the clear coating that is on cars and motor homes. This is a clear plastic sheet that is applied to the front of Moho's to protect against rocks and chips. It sometimes gets mold and clouds in it and looks awful. No amount of waxing or sealing will fix it. If you have some new procedure to fix this we are all ears.
