A button switch and red light do what?

I said I'd be back. When doing the walk through we discovered the button switch and small red indicator lamp under the passenger chair arm rest. Neither I nor the dealer know what it's for. The first photo is a view for context, the second is the button and lamp. Any ideas? Could it be for the keypad lock on the door? Haven't figured out how to change the code on that either.

Button switch turns on the light.

Light is there to show when the button switch is on.

Tim

P.S. Sorry. Couldn't resist making the joke. Someone will be along shortly to help you

Bill, you and Locomo14 are on the right track. I'm at the Forest River Dealer Expo, right next to the Berkshire display, so I walked over and asked. No one there had ever seen it until the Division GM happened to notice it earlier today, but didn't know what it does. We called Brady in engineering back at the plant and got the answer.

When you read the manual with instructions for programming the keyless entry and fob you'll see a section about shorting the terminals. Brady is sending instructions on how to use the button, and I'll post them here.

That didn't take long Bill. One other thing you need to do is remove that sticker that says nobody can sit there while your driving.

Button/LED

This LED & Button serve multiple functions:
  • Programming KeyFobs
  • Smart LED to display Keyless Entry Fault codes
  • Smart Alarm (Aftermarket Add-On) Armed Indicator
Hope it helps,

Probably true, but I could use the instructions to actually use it.
