A/C

When I run my A/C in zone 1 I get cold air out the vents in zone 2. This makes the zone 1 unit run nonstop when we have the door closed in our bedroom when we have guest. Is this normal. I would think the bedroom vents would just be supplied by the A/C zone 2.

I'm on my second multi ac motorhome(Damon and Berkshire) and on both there is a central channel for the ducting. There appears to be no barrier between the ducting in zone one and two. I don't know the reason for this, but there must be one.

As a work around we opened the air dump on the grate to keep both units cycling all night. We use the MH 90% of the time with just the two of us so having just Z1 running at night is fine. It's a lot quieter that way.

Yes-- it is normal. I think it is because the ducting is not segregated between the front and rear at all. I have noticed the same thing with my coach.

Same thing in the Georgetown line. I think they did this to enable AC to flow through the whole coach in the event you only have 30 amp service and could only run one AC unit at a time. We set our living area unit a little low during the night so it runs and air still flows into the bedroom but without the louder noise of the unit inside the bedroom running.

We have a 2011 390-rb-340 Berkshire. I believe it's setup that way because only zone 1 is a heat pump while zone 2 isn't.

On my coach, both units have heat pumps.

Yours looks like it is a bunk house ours has 1 1/2 baths and really only sleeps 2 although the sofa has an air matress. The rb stands for rear bath. I don't know if 2 heat pumps were an option as we bought our unit off the lot and got what I think was an awesome deal.

We bought ours of the lot also and got a great deal. The A/C is not a big deal and it makes sense that the duct work would all be connected. We had my Mom with us this weekend and one night needed to run the air.. We had our door shut and just before I fell asleep realized that our A/C had not run but the front one right over her head was not shutting off. I'm glad I figured it out as it would have been a long night with that blasting away.
