I had a similar issue on my 2012 Winnebago ERA. The Mercedes Sprinter chassis was a 2011 and the coach was built by Winnebago as a 2012. I called Winnebago and they sent me a letter which I took to the Iowa DMV and they had no problem changing the title from a 2011 to a 2012. Your motorhome model year is the year the company that built the unit labeled it, not the year that the basic chassis/van was built! This is a fairly common error made by DMV's and should not be an issue to correct.
As was the case with my ERA, the DMV clerk that cut the original title simply looked up the chassis VIN, not the serial number or model year of the coach on the "certificate of origin" and listed it on the title as the year of the chassis which was WRONG!!!!

Yay !! Just got back from another day at the DMV (across the state ) so they could crawl under the coach and verify the vin. # on the frame and with all the additional documents from FR passed it as a 2014, ( rightfully so ).

Another chapter ( problem behind me ). I won't even start complaining about how poorly our DMV's are run .

There is a VIN number for the running chassis and one for the MH. The date for the running chassis from.freighliner will likely be about 6 months older than that of the MH.

It is also important note that a 2014 was not always manufactured in 2014. The 2016 models have been out since approx June 2015.

The F ing saga continues !! I was so excited yesterday getting out of the inspection line with the form filled out by the inspector calling out the coach as a 2014. Went inside the DMV got a number and waited another 3 hrs. for my turn at the window to do the registration. Gal filled all the paper work took the big old check for the sales tax and handed me the plates and reg.

Wife says to me tonight did you look at the registration ? No why ? Says 2013 . WTF ?

Seems their computers keep kicking it as a 2013 because of Freightliners Vin.

Mon. they're closed, Tues. I'll be on the phone to the DMV commissioners office.

Who knows maybe I have to make another trip to Wethersfield.

Damn !

So glad to hear that... our tax dollars at work or not as the case may be. Glad you got past it with them.

Well foretm my patience was tried, and it seemed like it was touch and go a few times but after 4 trips and about 20 hrs. I held it together ( unlike me dealing with this kind of nonsense ) and prevailed.
