Air compressor

Does the Berkshire have a compressor with a way to use it to air tires like numerous other MH's do???? I read in the spec sheet that there is a 13.2 CFM air compressor on board...

I've looked all in the area up front where the gen slides out and I can't find anything that appears to be something to hook a hose to....

If u have air brakes then yes!

Find your air reserve tanks and install an air chuck.
Done deal.

Yes. Next to the genny. There is a air coupler. Hook a hose to it and you can fill your tires. Make sure the engine is running.

X2- mine is up and to the right of the generator, on the fire wall, when you are looking at the coach from the front.

Mine is up to the left of the generator. You may need to bend down a little to see it since it's probably like mine, up behind the top of the opening.

Ok guys.... Is this the fitting that I need to remove a plug from and replace it with a quick-connect fitting??? If so, I guess I need to drop the levelers so that will deflate the air bags and relieve some of the pressure???? I don't want the plug to "plug" me when I unscrew it...

Your tanks should have drains on them .
If not keep depressing foot brake till all air is exhausted.

No, that's not it. Don't remove anything just yet. Mine already had the quick connect connector on it.

Wish I had the coach here. I'd take a picture of mine, but it at the storage facility right now.

What is the year and model of your coach?

You are looking for this attached to a black pipe. Nothing else is on the line. Yours may be steel or brass.

yes that is the connector. Forest River put a connector on some coaches and not others. Mine had one, my buddys did not. Be sure that all the air is bled out of your systeb prior to removing one of the ports or you can get hurt. I used it for the first time last summer and it was great. I had a leak in valve stem on highway. replaced the core, pumped up the tire and was off in 5 minutes. I carry a 50 foot coil air hose from wall mart.

Air hose attachment

When I had the dealer install the quick connect to that little manifold up on the firewall they also installed a shutoff valve before the quick connect fitting just in case the quick connect starts to fail the integrity of the air system stays intact.
Also, I had to be towed recently and the tow operator was able to backfeed the air system thru this quick connect rather than going to the air tanks and installing a fitting.
Good Luck,

Alright now.... One says "no" that's not the place I install the quick-connect and another says. "Yes" that's it....

Totally confused.... I thought that I would simply remove one of the plugs in the picture and replace it with a quick-connect.... Now, am I right or wrong????

I have always seen the quick conect on the air tank, or plumbed from the tank to somewere like a bumper. But this is on big rigs.
There are usually several plugged orfices in the air tanks and one of those could be replaced with a valve and quick connect. I would be carefull tieing in to manifolds, you could have a conection leak and it could affect brakes, air springs, or something else.
If manuf. doesn't have a recomendation else were I would sugest the tank.

How about this.... Could someone possibly take a picture of what theirs looks like in the gen/firewall area of their Berkshire and attach it for me.... I can compute so much better if I have something to look at.....

Also - some of you have said you had an additional connect in your basement... Can't locate one in my 2008 Berkshire 360...

We have one in the left full rear bay, but it's not for air, it's set up off the propane tank to hook grill to. my air quick connect is by the generator, drivers side up high.

I'll try to take a picture tomorrow before we hit the road. I bought a husky 125 psi compressor. It does a faster job of filling my 2011 Berkshire tires.

I think some people are mistaking the gas quick connect in the basement for an aircoupler.

I sent you a privat message. I guess you did not get it. You profile is set up to not receive emails so I cannot mail the file directly to you. If you are logged in you should be able to access the file. It is a PDF file and you will need a PDF reader.

As for the connector in the basement in 2009 Forest River began putting in propane connection so you could run a grill. It is not in the 2008 model and you should not have it.

Again be carful when you access the air system that all the air is bled out. It normally runs at 120 PSI and will hurt you if you remove a access point under pressure.

Do not tap in at the tanks. The manifold in front by the compressor is for our use and is the only plase we the customer should tap the air system.

THere is no need to carry another compressor as another user suggest. The coach works great.
