Air dryer cartridge.

I need to change my air dryer cartridge. Has anyone done this and can give some direction and pictures. I have read it was simple to change out on a quick google search. But curious of berk specific. Thanks ken.

First drain air tanks so no air is in system. Also a good idea to change the purge valve. Depends on the model you have. Some bolt together, some spin on like a oil filter.

Attached you should find everything you never wanted to know;-)

It is a easy job to change. Only hard part is where they put the darn thing.

klucas,
Depends on the year of your coach. I believe that on newer coaches, they changed the air dryer and you now need to remove the whole unit before you can take it apart and change the cartridge.

Silver - Could you tell me how much the air dryer cost you and where you got it?

For my 24 month service, the service schedule called for inspecting it, but Oasis changed for $164. The invoice calls out "Air Dryer Kit AD-9" and "BW 107796". Wondering how often it needs changing.

The manual says to change every 3 years. As I do not put that many miles and therefore that much use on the compressor I stretch it to four years. I purchased my filter from Freightliner. I believe the cost was $140. As for inspecting the filter I do not know how that would be done as once you access the cartage you might as well replace it. Sort of like an oil filter, once removed why put it back on.
