Air intake

Anyone know if there's a screen that can be put over the air intake vent on our Berks??? I just removed my air filter and it was crammed full of a birds nest.... Cleaned it all out BUT it's a pail in the A-- to remove the air filter....

Need a screen over the opening that won't impede the air flow....

I’ll tell what I do. I bought a magnetic floor vent cover from home depot, cut to size and cover the air intake when camping or in storage. It will keep the wasps from building nest in your intake. But make sure you put a sign over your ignition switch to remove before starting, not sure what would happen if forgotten. Maybe someone else has a better way.

I'd love to mount some sort of screen over the opening - like the ones I have over various other openings - furnace, etc...

Ooooh, like that idea. And, paint it day glow red! So I guess that means the louvred piece is steel and not aluminum like I thought!

Seems like some quarter inch hardware cloth mounted behind that vent would be great if it could be done.

Removed all this crap, reset monitor and it works great now....

Really need to figure out some way to keep critters out of intake...

If you would keep him on a leash like your supposed to, he wouldn't be getting in the air intake.

I have been lucky in that I've found two nests before ingesting. I took a piece of recessed fluorescent light fixture grid, cut it to size, slid it into the opening between two of the vanes and then cable tied it to the vanes.

Mine is on driver's side rear.... Rectangular opening with fins in it... No screen over opening to keep pests out tho...

No. The width of the grate is just slightly smaller than the opening between the vanes of the intake v

I think he's saying he made the wire small enough to slip in through the opening and then tie wrap it in place.
