Annual service cost

Just curious as to how much people are have to pay for annual service on their Cummins IBS - 6.7 and Onan 8KW Genset.

Just took my 2012 390BH-60 into Cummins for its first servicing. The engine has about 8000 mile and the Genset about 360 hours. Servicing basically consisted of fluid and (fuel, oil and water)filters changes as well a a chassis lube.

Original bill came to over $1200 but they later revised it down to something just over $800.

lefaivre, can you please clarify a few things. I have not had any service done on our new Berk. We have 4,500 mi and 50 hrs on the genset.

1. Did you take it to Freightliner or a dealer for service?
2. How much of the final bill was for the service on the genset?

Thanks,

Marc

Based on the service manuals for the engine and GenSet, both should be serviced a min of every 12 months since most of us will not reach the milage theshold.

Talked to local Freightliner dealer and was told that they will only do warrenty work on RV and not basic servicing.

Past experience has taught me that most RV dealers either will not work on ... or are not very good working on the engine.

Had taken my old Fleetwood Discovery to Cumins/Onan dealer for engine service and Genset. Seemed like a logical choice since they are the manufacture of the produce and are more familiar than anyone else.

Take ours to local Frightliner dealer for service, oil change etc. Runs about 450 for generator and engine.
