Harleydriven the Girard unit for whatever reason is very flow sensitive air in the lines even small amounts cause fits. There are success stories with the Girard but there are more horror stories. That could be why FR for 2016 models started using Atwood because us users don't have the patience to deal with it. When DW says fix it that doesn't mean put a bandaide on it.

After fighting with our Girard water heater for more than 4 years, I finally had a trip with hot water.

For four years I tried every possible fix discussed on this forum.

Kyle at Girard finally suggested changing our system from auto/low to high/low. This was a fix that took about two minutes to perform. Look at my previous posts for solution.
