Would we be able to reconnect and disconnect the poles from there mount without getting a ladder? Remember the awning on a Berkshire is close to 11' off the ground. I do everything I can to avoid a ladder. Is this something that can be slipped on or does it require a bolt? I had asked about the poles sometime ago and kinda set it aside but like the idea.

That's the part that makes the awning close to worthless at least on my 2011. It is still a good 10' off the ground. Most Class A Moho are like that. What compounds our problem is the slide comes out almost 3' so the useful amount of space under the awning is pretty small. The slide is also why the awning is so high. We have some adjustments but not much and when you adjust it down it lays in the slide out. Even with adjustment all the way it's still 9-10 feet off the ground.

I've heard that before. Lol. I think that is why I set it aside last time. OC really tried to figure it out but we never did. I work real hard at parking facing north. It helps.

Why not put a pin at the top of the arm, off to the side (90 degrees) that a pole would just slip onto and have a tie down attached to pole.....then, with strap attached to bracket on pole, just slip both onto pin and let the tension of strap due the work of hold'n it all together. Would a 3 stage pole work better as it'd collapse further for storing...

Maybe attach/pin something similar to this (short socket end) on the bracket that attaches to the awning arm and you could simply twist-lock the pole into it when necessary.

That would sure work. How would the kit that OC makes attach to the Carefree awning. Has anyone done that?

At the risk of sounding boastful, that was actually one of the features we liked about the full slide on the 38A, the awning is mounted on the slide.

Phil, that part would definitely be a deal killer for me. With my current setup, there is no way to do this without a ladder. And I'm the same as you- I do everything that I can to avoid a ladder on a regular basis. It looks like Bob has some good ideas down below for possible solutions- though, lining up the small pieces at 11' in the air could be challenging.
