At the risk of sounding boastful, that was actually one of the features we liked about the full slide on the 38A, the awning is mounted on the slide.

How about longer one on one side and a stubby on other?
Feed it in one way and pull back on stubby?

Phil, that part would definitely be a deal killer for me. With my current setup, there is no way to do this without a ladder. And I'm the same as you- I do everything that I can to avoid a ladder on a regular basis. It looks like Bob has some good ideas down below for possible solutions- though, lining up the small pieces at 11' in the air could be challenging.

Ratchet strap could be lower on pole to make it easier to attach from ground....
