Bungee cords thru the grommets and the other end of the bungee hooks to the plastic tent stakes that came with the awning. The company includes the stakes and rope, but I prefer the bungee cords since it gives the awning and drop a little flex.

I'm sure everyone knows this but before you stake down the awning turn off the awning so it doesn't try to roll up.

Sadly my power awning has just one switch for in or out. ;(
