Have you thought of going to one of the box stores, purchasing heavy duty slides and making a tray? You'll love it when you have to check and add water to the batteries as you go forward.
BTW when the time comes I replaced mine with batteries from Sams Club and they have worked great!

Silver,
Would need to change or somehow lengthen the wires so you could slide it out.

That's what I was thinking on the wires.

In the past I have purchased battery extension cables in at all places Walmart. Come in lengths starting from 1 foot with screw lug terminals. Could extend with those, nut and bolt to attach to original and electrical tape to prevent shorts. Just a thought.

Weighing the options, but seems like it's just robbing more carrying capacity . Even though I agree that it sure would be easier to maintain.

Ok another item off the list. Picked up 4 fresh batteries, put down the mats, installed batteries and connected all the cables.

Well Wayne don't know about being proud of the Interstates but certainly glad that I was able to get the mess that was in there cleaned up before more corrosion set in. Now hopefully the batteries will be good for a while.

I think you did everything you can to make sure that last a long time. Have you played around with charging rates at all? There has been a lot written about the best settings. Might be worth reviewing.

Bingo, Phil !! Exactly what I need to familiar myself with. I was going to start a post to see if I could get some help with that, but maybe I'll see if I can find something in the search.
