Angry Bad neighborhood kids!!!

Conducted a walk around my rig this morning and noticed some dings in the paint. It looks like some bored kid decided to throw rocks at the side of my unit. It really stinks because the unit is only six months old and now I have 3 bad chips. Is there a touch up paint kit available or any good ideas to make the minor repairs?

Thanks in advance....

You did not state what the make and model of your "rig" is. My GeorgeTown came from the factory with a touch up kit included.

Sorry - I have the 390BH (Blue, Black, Gray, & White) Scheme....

AAARGH, after reading your post I went out and looked in the support package that came with the unit. The four bottles of paint and instructions were sitting at the bottom of the container...Thanks...Love this forum...

Glad you had the touch up paint, but now you have to figure out how to prevent the local kids from doing more damage. That would make me a very unhappy camper

guess it's "that time of the year" for these idiots to come out from under their rocks

including today's early morning news, they show morons ripping-up outside Christmas decorations - another, this morning, showed a citizen who caught 1 of 3 evil-doers who were stealing Christmas present from the home of a neighbor

it's a, uh, different World these days......CHL folks, CHL .....Bill

its a shame to hear about those kids throwing rocks- if it were me I would see about setting up a video security camera in the camper - you might just catch them.

Or....buy a cover. It'll help protect against minor stone damage

I like the idea of those wildlife cameras - I'm wondering if the distance would be adequate to catch stone throwers.

Trail camera cover a large area. Get one that has the ability to shoot in the dark. Mark sure you set it up high and lock it in place. Good luck!

Here's the real problem. Even if you got a video of the kids doing damage, guess what???? The parents would not believe it was their kid and they would fight you in court. After 35 years in the classroom less than 1% of parents admitted that their kid was at fault. I even had a kid write some really bad words about me in his homework assignment. When I read it to his Dad he asked me this question. "Do you have problems with other kids in your class.?" When I responded yes because you will and do. He said, "Well, then it must be your fault." Best of luck!!!!

No, but if he has it on video and the parents won't do anything he can then take legal action. Kids need to be held responsible, even if it's through the courts.

Another option might be:
If you have an idea who the kids might be, you might try getting them to respect your unit by giving them a tour inside, showing them the compartments, etc. You might even let them help you wash it, or take them for a short ride in it.

Follow up

Installed two cameras that will alert me if there is motion....There is no way that I am sure that it was kids, but if it were a larger person I think that that they may have used a bigger rock. Who knows, but I am happy that the forum was able to guide me in the right direction to find the paint repair kit.

Once again Thanks for your help!
