Base plate

I'm in Central Florida, bought a new car wondering if anybody in the area can recommend somewhere to have a base plate installed.

Usually an RV Dealer's service can get it done. IMHO, stay away from Camping World. Where in central FL, are you?

The biggest problem you are going to have is scheduling. You might even try a body shop.

When I purchased my 2005 Jeep last Aug, I could not find anyone other than the RV places, I decided to do it myself. Wasn't that difficult on the Jeep, what kind of car do you need to install it on?

Its a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. So far I've priced Blue Ox with everything lights and all under $4,000.

Steve, Give Rentz Trailer Sales a call. They are in Hudson and did mine last Sept. Good price and honest people. 727 863-2700. You can wait on it if you have the time or leave it and pick up later. I got there when they opened and was out by 1:00. They installed a Roadmaster base plate, diodes for the lights and all the wiring. I already had a Brake Buddy and a Falcon2 tow bar.

Not trying to change your mind, but take a look at the Roadmaster Off Road series (I'd go with the 10K hitch because you never know (either with their onebrake or a Air Force one).

We have been doing a LOT of research and this setup seems to give you the best bang for the buck.

X2 what Bob says. The Falcon and Brake Buddy were aired for $500 so i couldn't pass them up. The all terrain is easier to unhook if you are not level and the Airforce One users your air brakes.

Now that i read it again i think the O.P. only needs the base plate since he bought a new toad

Did you read his other posts for a says its going to cost almost $4,000. that seems to be a lot if it doesn't also include a tow bar.

We just purchased a CR-V. Decided to tackle the install of the base plate myself. I have about 900.00 between the base plate and a Blue Ox Aventa.

X2 Dan - that was my impression. If the OP is paying $4K for a Base Plate he can have the base plate of his choice, purchased from me and shipped overnight for $2000 - half-price, such a deal!

Joe, I hope that your CRV is older then 2015. In 2015, the CRV got a CVT tranny and is no longer towable on all fours. I have a 2013 and done the baseplate and also on a friend's. Its a little tricky getting the nose off.
Good Luck - Hank

I just realized that. $4000 is a lot for a baseplate. Guessing he needs it all.

It's a 2013 Hank. I do do a little research every once in a while.
