Battery level reading 2/3 after being plugged in.

I replaced my 4 coach batteries this past november. I had the coach stored outside and would run the generator every 3 weeks to charge batteries. I recently moved the coach to an indoor storage facility and have it plugged in. When I took it out to do some work on it, i noticed the magnum indicating only 2/3 charge on batteries after I disconnected. Could there be a problem with the reading?

Not sure where you live ... but I will assume that it is somewhere with cold winters.

First question ....

When you have the unit stored, do you disconnect coach and house batteries using the 3 switches in the battery compartment? If not .... you should. If you have not done this the Phantom draw can be quite large and you may have frozen you batteries.

Second

How is the water level in the batteries ... are they topped up. All of the cells should be covered.

Did you replace with 4 high capacity 6 volt batteries?

I live in western Canada and the winter Temps can be very cold. I make sure the batteries have a full charge when I put the unit to bed. I only charge when the outside temp gets well above freezing since I do not have access to power at storage.

Another possible explanation involves the magnum remote. It can be configured for different types of battery. I went from agm to normal and my tech optimized the magnum for the new battery type.
