Bedroom Television
Has anybody changed out the television in the bedroom. We have the BH model and just can't get my hands behind the tv. The unit does tip from the top but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to get it off.

On our 2011BH the rear TV is on a "slide on" mount. Just hold the bottom of the TV and push it up to get it off the mount.

I had to take mine off to run an HDMI cable for a dish box a couple of years ago. It was a pain to reinstall. If I remember correctly the release is on the bottom and you slide the TV up.

Just had mine off the mount last weekend. I have a 2013RB and not sure if it is the same, but there is a screw "lock" in the middle of the mount on the bottom (just behind the actual TV that you take out. You then pull the bottom of the TV forward and lift up to get the "hooks" on each side off of the rail they rest on near the top. Hope that helps.

On my 2011, there's a release handle at the bottom (center). Just squeeze & it comes off.

Thanks for all the comments. Of course my set up is nothing like any of you described. Through much frustration, trial and error success. Take a seat! After looking for all of the suggestions I found out that I had to remove the window valance to access two Allen set screws that secure the television to the wall mounted hardware. The valance is only held on with three screws but the screw on the top, #2 Robertson requires about a 6" extension, and we all have one those just hanging around.

We have a 2012 390BH60. I swapped out the rear TV the first year to a much larger unit.
To remove I think there was a release pin or lever and then lift off.
I installed a power bar into the single outlet behind the TV. Fill thee hole behind TV and reinforce. Install an articulating arm with a larger TV that will fit flick to cabinet face frame. I installed a small shelf below TV to house a new blueray player and sound bar.
The TV is locked in ticht to cabinet for travel and is pulled out and tilted when stopped.
I have it wired in to either play the same DVD as living room or the bluray in rear.
Total cost was approx 300 dollars.

Hi Lefaivre, could you please post a couple pictures of your install? I am interested in possibly doing something very similar. Thanks, Glenn

Finished changing out the bedroom tv. Learned Toshiba pulled out of the US market. If you find a Toshiba, it's made by some other company. Ended up with a Samsung Smart TV. After figuring out how to uninstall the original TV the install was a breeze.

I only had room for 32" in the bedroom. Got a Samsung Smart TV for $229 + tax at Best Buy.

Paul, would you please post a pic of the install? Like Phil I am really thinking about doing this because my old eyes have trouble seeing the current smaller TV while laying in the bed. -Glenn

Sorry Glenn, this is the only picture I took. The Allen set screws are accessed by the holes you see drilled under the attaching arms. The window valance is held on by three screws. One left, right and one center top. If you go with Samsung, you'll need to buy four m8 x 35mm machine screws and lock washers, split washers.

The 2012 has two overhead cabinets above dresser. The original fit between the two with room.to spare.
The replacement is.not huge but I think I went from.about 18 to a 28.
The new one fits nicely in front of the face frame with a shelf and blurry with soundboard down below.
Will.input photos the next time I go out to storage.

Ive mounted numerous flat screens and many that are non swivel come with a 12-18" T handle Allen or just a plain 90 degree bend Allen. Harbor freight should have what you need if your trying to get off on the cheap for a tool to remove the bottom set screws.

Neither do any good if you don't take the window valance down. The head of the Allen set screw is below the top surface of the trim piece.
