Not sure where u are located but call a cummins distributor shop and give them the serial number they should be vale to tell you warranty status. And if out of warranty more than likely be able to do it cheaper or even work a little more with you.

If you can get Sean on the line at CS, you've got a better chance of success, (again) IMHO.

Boowho??

As I mentioned earlier, mine was replaced twice and covered under the Cummins warranty without issue, the last time about 4 1/2 years into the warranty. Had to pay the deductible but still cheaper when labour factored in. This IS a covered part.

Mitchell,
Not sure where there is a Cummins dealer on LI but there is a Freightliner Dealer/service center on Lakeland Ave in Bohemia. It is called TRUX or Freightliner of Long Island. The work they do is very good.
Good luck,
Tom

We take ours only to frightliner or a cummins dealers for engine or chassis work, odds are a RV dealer won't know how to fix in the first place or how to do it right.

Mitchell,
Yes, I have had warranty work done there as well as some maintenance (chassis lube) and NYS inspection.

If the tension-er is bad what the shop may not be telling you is that there is burned rubber from the belt on all the pules. If you do not clean them off the belt will slip, squeel and give you constant problems. I know because the first time mine was changed FL did a quick and dirty job under warranty. The second time was out of warranty. Cost about $2000. I was there for the entire job and the tech earned every penny. Took two days to clean things up and at one point the thought was might have to replace the water pump and AC pump. You would not think so but It was a real mess. FL near me really Scr$$ed me on the first repair.
