Berkshire XL

New member here. I am about one year out to get my first motor coach. Unless I can find a used one, I plan on getting a new one that has what I want. So far from my research, I have decided on a Berkshire XL 40BH with the Diesel upgrade. I am reading like mad on their quality and how everything feels when driven. But that isn't my question here. I love the floor plan but I want the addition of the Electric Easy-Bed O/H Cockpit Area. I have looked at other floor plans similar to the Berkshire but with the Electric Easy-Bed O/H Cockpit Area but it just doesn't have all the other features. So, what can I do to get this installed? I don't want to contact Berkshire now since I am not ready to buy right now but if that is the only way, of course, I will. Any advice will be much appreciated.

All Berkshires are diesel so no need to upgrade to a diesel. I also don't believe a overhead bed like you are asking about would work in any class A diesel . The door will be in the way. Even if you could find such a thing it would take a tremendous amount of work. Good luck with your search and welcome to the forum.

I know when I looked for our MH that I found a side entry rear diesel that had the front bunk but had no bunkhouse...

Phil,
When h1soul said diesel upgrade, I think he means the upgrade to the 380 hp engine. Just my take on his post.

That's what I thought to.

Just don't know about that bed over the cab area though.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, when I stated the diesel upgrade, I was referring to the 380 HP.

As for the Electric Easy-Bed O/H Cockpit Area, I would of thought Forest River would have that option for their other models since the Legacy does. If I don't get further ideas, I will contact Forest River.

The Fleetwood excursion has a mid entry diesel with the drop down queen bed over drivers seat. I loved that feature with my Fleetwood gasser, but like the front entry loutouts much better. Fold out queen couch is just as good in my opinion.

You can't have the o/h bed option on a front entry DP.
