Berkshire Xl coming unscrewed !

As I mentioned earlier , this is my first Berk XL 40 BH .. We have had it on the road for a total of 21 days .. We returned with a broken table, bunk doors came off , and several cabinet hinges screw holes stripped out .. All of the issues above I feel are screw and stripped hole issues .. Is this something that I need to get used to or did they change something with the Berk XL ?

This is a brand new unit and didn't expect to have so many screws come loose . LOL

We researched Motorhomes for a while and this seemed to best fit our family.

Any suggestions ? I am taking it into the dealer they say don't worry its all covered ..

Kind of what you can expect with all Forest River products and to a lesser extent other manufacturers.

I don't know what a trilogy is but I can tell you this. Forest River Diesel Division is second to none with support for us owner.

Really, Since I spend months in my motorhome, each year. Usually in it from May to September. I talk to a lot of owners of all different brands all over the country. When we talk about issues they all seem to have them. No brand stands out as problem free. Right now I'm at a RV park in South Dakota and camped next to an almost new Tiffin Alegro Bus, owned 7 months, that, according to the owner, has been in and out of the dealership for at least 2 of the 7 months. Problems with cabinets, slides, shades and A/C units.

Are there exceptions, yes every brand has a few dud's. Sounds like you got a dud!

Absolutely true! I have never found a company so dedicated to their owners / customers satisfaction.

I disagree.

IMO Not sure about other Divisions but Diesel builds a "better than others" product and provides exceptional customer service.

I disagree as well!

We are on our third brand new RV all three from different manufacturers and we have had little to no problem with our Forest River product, unlike our last 5th wheel, in the 18 months that we had it, it was in the shop 9 months. We are VERY happy with Forest River.

Follow up Berk XL

Thanks for input .. The other thing which was major was our bunk slide would not go back out .. Initially, I was panicked cause we were at 9100 feet and it was late on a friday night stuck 1/3 of the way out in colorado . I tried calling all of the numbers they give you to call for "help" in the first 60 days . No one answered .. I called Coachnet and they sent someone out the next morning (he knew nothing about the slides but was super friendly). I also called the dealer Motorhome Specialist in Dallas the that morning spoke to the Berk Tech , he told me it was a common issue with this one electric slide and a gear box . All of the other slides are hydraulic . I was able to continue my trip and just pull it out and in by hand.. He also told me not to worry cause Forest River takes great care of their customers .. But you all can imagine the feeling after spending so much on a Motorhome .. As far as the drive-train, air brakes, diesel and Allison transmission I have no doubt they are top notch and had zero issues . I love the way it rides and drives.

Like my wife said .. its a silly screw that can be fixed .

We also have just purchased an XL BH 40 last month. Our has been almost trouble free except for the bed slide that only extend when my wife presses the button while I push on the bed to slide it out....

Every motorhome builder builds a poor/fair/good product. Its up to you to make it great. In any wet area replace all screws with stainless steel screws and others area as well. Purchase many cans of rustoleum black paint and crawl under every other year and spray the frame/crossmembers and support beams. Go around and lube regular and clean and adjust. Things will need repaired, do a better job than a assembly line worker will do and you will soon have a great coach.
