Berkshire XLT owners: Dual Pitch Awning

It's Brian again...

Thanks for the responses on adding a fridge to the basement.

Now I have another request. Currently I have dual awnings that run the full length of the coach. I use it a lot more than I thought I would and while looking at the XLT specs it seems to be an option to add another awning to the rear slide. So... has anyone had the second awning added? Also, I would like to see pics of the front awning extended.

(The closest dealer to us is 3 hrs away and they have a 45A on order, but before we drive and look at it, I am trying to get an idea of a few things.)

As always, thanks in advance.

I have an XLT 43 B with the extra awning on the back slide. The second back awning is Not available on all models of the XLT. I have a bunkhouse so the back “wardrobe”slide is very long allowing for almost total passenger side coverage when both big awnings are extended. Not sure if the second awning can be added after the coach is built. We ordered ours when we spec’d out the coach.

Won’t be for about 2 weeks until I take it out of storage.

Oddly enough the factory will NOT install these on pre-2018 Berkshires - they are saying that the Berk is not structurally prepared for the awnings.

Mmnsc: Excellent! That is exactly what I was looking for.

We are interested in the 45A, but the rear slide is not big enough for the 2nd awning, however I think I can make do with 1 to get the extra full bath...

Yes. I shop around and change every few years. It's time to switch so I'm looking again

If you own an Anthem and get an XLT you are really going to be disappointed in the build quality. You are really downgrading.

We finally went to the dealership 3 hours away and looked at a 43C and a 45A. The 43C looked much better than the 45A (inside quality and components).

Also, I got to look at the awning.

Thanks!

We also like the 43C over the 45A and just ordered a 2019 Berkshire XLT 43C.

Ordered it at LazyDays last week. Waiting for it to be scheduled by FR, running around 8 weeks or so right now. Plan on going to Elkhart when they build it. Delivery is looking like middle of June which would be perfect for our trip to New Orleans in July.
