Block heater

Having problem finding switch for block heater on 2014 Berkshire 390 FL.

Now I see a breaker for it in the panel. GFI-- and in the inverter bay I see a GFI plug in with a cord plugged in the GFI plug in ?? Guessing that wire going to a switch someplace.

Another thing I missed in my PDI. Hopefully I never need it. Just follow the sun. Lol

No switch. Of you want to shut it off you need to unplug it or flip the breaker. At least for mine, i can say i traced the wire.

Well my breaker was on. And that wire is plugged in. Ok. I'll test the circuit Thanks

Ok when I throw the breaker it kills the plug in the inverter bay. So now I'll trace that wire & see if it goes to the motor without a switch. Seems odd that it be set up that way. Heck they just as well hung cord out the back of RV???

How do you know that it is not working? The heater I mean.

I had an F250 with the 6.0, just had to plug in the wire and the heater came on. This is the way they are set up. I have never heard of a heater having a switch. I leave the one on my coach unplugged.

Well my coach is less than a month old so if it has a block heater I assume it will work.

Now my last coach had a switch along side of the bed. So I was looking for a switch.

What I found was a breaker for a block heater in the panel at the foot of the bed. Now what does that breaker run??? What it runs turns out to be a GFI receptacle wall plug that is located in the inverter compartment.

Now there was a cord plugged into that receptacle that I haven't traced yet. My guess is that it goes to the block heater. I just figured it might have a switch in the line as my last coach did.

So I guess either throw the breaker or unplug the plug from the receptacle that is stuck in behind the inverter.

Easy either way after you understand it.

Russell, On my 2011 390BH, that plug is for the block header. On mine, I leave it unplugged, unless I want the heater on. That is a regular type electrical box, so you can plug something else in there if you wanted (the breaker would need to be on of course). Craig

I agree on plugging anything in it. Thanks for the conformation on that plug being the heater.

If I ever use it I'll just use the breaker as the switch

Ours is easy to reach in the power cabinet, so when not using is for the engine block it is a power outlet for what ever needs to be powered, drill, vacuum when cleaning bays, patio lights.
