Can I Use a Crock pot on low temp with my inverter?
Have a 2011 390QS Berkshire. The Magnum inverter is 1200 watt. The house batteries (4) are 1 year old. Can I run a crock pot for 4 - 5 hours on low temp with that system if I am boondocking & do not want to run the generator?

We have found the new Inst-Pot to be much better than the old style crock pots. Run the generators for 4-8 minutes and the entire meal is completed. It takes care of big 4-6# roasts, veggies and everything. The Can Cooker is another welcome addition to boon docking.

Surprisingly, most crock pots are low wattage, low is something like 60 watts. 5 hours at 60 watts would be 25 AH, maybe 30 with inefficiency. With 4 batteries you should have 225AH or so useful, for 25 would be fine.

I believe 60 watts is on the very low end. It could be as high as 180 on low.
Still doable with 4 batteries. Did you save the owners manual? It might tell you a range of wattages. Or call or FB message them for exact numbers.

Just check the power tag on the bottom of it. I run one very often with no problems. Mine only draws 150W on high.

CrackPots and InstaPots are a boondockers friend! We have even had them running in the truck's 400W inverter going down the highway. Hard to concentrate with that great smell permeating the back seat!

crockpot
I have 2 crockpots - both measure 100 - 105 watts on high. One is 2 1/2 qts and the other 1 1/2 qts. Have used them many times in the RV on a small inverter. If you want to use them a lot, a single 100 watt solar panel would cover the use. I also have an instant pot and while it is faster, the total energy use is almost identical (per a wattmeter). I personally prefer the crockpot most of the time but I may be unusual.

IIRC, our crockpot is 140 watts on high. Use it with a 750 watt Inverter going down the road. Turn on the truck headlights to bring the voltage up to 14. (At least at the truck). It keeps up ok. You should have no problems with 4 batteries. Jay

We have done that for years. The only problem in a Class "C" is that after a few hours of cooking the smell makes you famished.

Check the wattage of YOURS.
Our smaller one is 50w on low.
We regularly run it on an inverter.
