Cargo Latch plastic catch broken
On my 2008 Berkshire 36SQ, one of the cargo latch plastic catch broke. They are somehow attached to a rod that runs inside the cargo door and pull up and down by the opening latch mechanism. I can't find the replacement latch part, either the plastic catch, or rod and catch. Has anyone had one of these break and if so, where did you find a replacement ?

Ours broke also, it was one that pointed downwards. We found a replacement ar the local rv dealer, however with ours, the curved bottom of the door makes it imposiable to remove the assembly. Hope the one that broke on your is one of the sideways ones.

latch assembly
Before you go thru the effort to find one, see if you can even get the old one out! My understanding you have to replace the entire assembly. We can not get the assembly out due to curved part on bottom of door.

We have two spare assemblies that were ordered by our dealer from FR no problem replacing the ones that go sideways. If you can't get the up/down one out let me know and I'll take a picture of how we put a different latch on.

Please take a picture, the latch on the water management door has some how fallen out. This is an upward swinging door with a curved bottom.

door latch mod
Found some latches that are used on pop-up campers. Rivited the hook end on the door and screwed the base under the cargo bay. Holds the door firmly closed, can put a lock on if you wantand can not see the replacement from outside. Would be nice to have the door as normal but only way we figured out to get the old assembly out was (1) cut the curved part of the door (2) pull the skin off the door. Didn't want to do either one

Found the part. Its part number 20X28802A referred to as the Plunger Baggage Door. I found a Berkshire Parts Dealer in San Diego that had two. I bought the other as a spare. I do have a bottom one missing on another door so thanks for the information on even trying to replace that one. Appreciate the alternative plan too.

Would be nice if someone could figure out how to get the up/down ones out past the curve on the bottom. If you figure it out let us know.

Has anyone figured out how to replace the up/down latch? There has to be a secret on how to get it past the curve of the door!
