Clips used for water compartment - name??

Hello all. Today while winterizing our 08 Berkshire, I noticed an issue on the water compartment door. One of the clips is completely missing and the other appears broken, or at least not attached right, as it moves from side to side.

My question is what are these clips called? I need to get replacements but I've looked all day and not found a similar item.

Thanks everyone.

I will try to get a picture tomorrow. There are a clip with a safety pin - of sorts to hold the door closed. Not real substantial - but when actually "on the door", I suspect they work well enough...

There is a hairpin clip that "locks" the mechanism - I apologize for not being more clear. I'm missing the entire thing - spring clip, lock and pin - there is nothing down there on one side and only a half rotten clasp on the other...

Draw Latch

These are called a draw latch and below are two sites that may carry what you need. When I picked up my Berkshire one was broken on the compartment tha contains the water pump, the dealer ordered one and replaced it for me. I'm not sure who he ordered from but I'll bet Forest River will send you one if you ask.

Lowes has them. One of mine came off and I found a replacement at Lowes. Drilled out the rivets holding the piece on the door and used a screw to hold in place. Also drilled holes for screws to hold the latch piece. I believe that they may also be called suitcase latches.

They are a PIA if you ask me... Couple that along with the small hole in the electrical compartment to pull the 50 amp cord thru. Two of my pet peeves with our Berk.

This may be a silly questions but am I the only one that finds this whole (hidden latch thing) to be a crazy design feature. I had owned the MH for the better part of a year before I even realized that there was a door in that location. What makes Berkshire think that having access to the water tank drain, water pump and winterizaton point does not warrant having a proper door with locking latch and gas props.

What happened did they run out of parts when they built the original prototype?

You are not my friend !

I had to ask another member on the forum where to find the access point shortly after I purchased the coach.
