Closed Step

Well, we r sitting here in our CG site and I just opened the door to discover that my step has closed.....

I now canít get it to open..... didnít do anything to cause it to close so Iím at a loss..... tried turning switch by door off/on; tried starting Diesel engine- no luck...

Guess Iíll check fuses in the morning....

On mine fuse under drivers side window. Left one of the three. Also, there is logic that retracts it when the ignition is on. (Don't have to start). So make sure key is OFF when you're testing for 12V.

Don't have a Berkshire but typically there is a door open/closed sensor typically a switch (typically magnetic) and it might pay to check it if fuses are ok.

Bad sensor on the extension mechanism. Take it apart and see how it works and if there's anything obvious there. Or just wait until it really breaks.
