Cold floor, Berkshire 39BH

Is anyone experiencing a very cold floor in the front of the coach? Additionaly, anyone have air leaking in through the stowage well that stores the metal stairwell cover?

Last time we camped, the temps got down to 45 at night. In the morning our floors were cold. I think this is pretty normal for ceramic or porcelain flooring. The floors in my house will do the same.

I have never notice any air coming into the coach. But these things are not at all airtight.

Given the low R value of floors I think a cold one would be normal.

Radiant Heat under the tile would have been a nice option. Our house has mostly tile floors and they are always cold too. Luckily Santa usually brings us all new slippers each year.

I found in my '08 that if I use the furnace that it would warm the floor. This may be due to the fact the ducts ran under the floor. Not sure how the duct work runs in my '14 though.

The floor certainly will get warm right over the heating duct. I can tell you as someone that lives in his coach every day, the "R" value of these coach's is around zip.

The Berk seems just a tiny bit better but with my 2000 Dutch Star if the furnace was off, the interior temp was ALWAYS two degrees warmer than the outside temperature on a chilly morning.

You might just as well have chicken wire for the walls. That's why I'm in Yuma for the winter (this year) and as high in the mountains as I can during the summer.
