Color back up monitor
Question: Do you really think it's possible that FR would actually pair up a color back up monitor with a b&w rear camera??? Please tell me they wouldn't do that.... I have the Jensen color monitor but seem to be getting only black and white pictures...
Unless I'm missing a setting on the Jensen, I think I've got a b&w rear camera...
Bummer!!!!

Yep, you're right, but if it really bothers you, there are color rear cameras that are pretty much a plug and play replacement. They are available from RV Cameras Inc. in Baton Rouge LA. They're not cheap, but they would solve the problem if you're willing to pony up the $. I think that they also have color replacements for the side cameras also.
For now I've chosen to stay with the black and white units because they are already paid for and my DW standing outside next to the unit when I back up has a wider field of view than the camera lens would have. I mostly use the back up camera just to be sure that the little white car that always follows my coach down the road from about 4 feet behind my unit is still there.
From my prespective, the money that I would pay for the color camera replacements would more than cover a week or more of CG charges.

As mf4110 stated, Forest River did indeed use B&W cameras with a color monitor. As he also stated, there are color cameras available but they are costly. I think someone has replaced their B&W cameras with color ones so if you do a search you may be able to get some additional information.

I've done the color swap, on all 3 cameras. It was indeed plug and play. Much better if you are willing to spend the money ....

I've been considering the swap as the stock cameras have poor contrast and brightness abilities. Do the replacements have units that auto compensate brightness and/or contrast. It sort if negates the safety aspects of the cameras if I always have to fiddle with these settings depending on the time of day and the direction I'm pointing!

I don't know that they autocompensate (they seem to), but they are definitely superior to the B&W. To my eyes, the B&W's were essentially useless - the color cameras, however it is they operate, are pretty good in all light situations. Fortunately I was not on a budget at the time, so to me it was money well spent.

Not only is the rear camera black & white, it doesn't tilt either. Being able to tilt the rear camera would be beneficial.
Motowood did you color camera come with tilt?

No, the color camera does not tilt. It mounts the same way as the B&W. You can manually adjust it if you want a different view, and then that's where it stays. I have mine so I just barely see the hitch receiver and then back, which works OK for me.
