Converting WeberQ for Berkshire Quick Connect

In another Berkshire thread I promised to tell what I did last weekend to convert my Weber Q100 to plug into the low pressure quick connect line in the storage bay. So here it is.

Unfortunately, the parts are from 2 different sources. Caloree Equipment and Amazon.
There may be other sources, but this is from some documents I found with instructions so I stuck with them to be sure it would all work.

1. This part is only needed if you wish to occasionally plug the original regulator in to use the 1 LB bottles.
Model 250 Quick Connect X 1/8" MNPT


2. Male plug that goes on the Q100 where the regulator was.

3. Coupler to adapt make quick connect to the Q100.

4. Some pipe tape to make sure nothing leaks.

5. And of course a hose to connect the grill to the Berkshire quick connect.

Here are parts after installation.

1. Male quick connect on Weber 100.


2. The female quick connect on the regulator if you chose to keep the ability to use 1 LB bottles.


3. The regulator can be connected back up is you want to use the 1 LB bottles like this.


4. Picture of the Berkshire quick connect in the storage bay.



I did not take a picture with the hose attached to the grill and motorhome, but I assume you can figure that out by yourself.

Nice job Dan! I did the same with a Camp Chef double burner from Cabelas. Thanks for posting a "how to".

I need to order another section of hose. I have about 15' total now. It works in most situations. But I want to get more in case I need it. So thanks for that link from Amazon.

I used mine a couple of times during the past week and it worked out very nice. A longer hose would be useful.

Dutch, keep in mind that the parts I used probably will not work on your grill.

I did this a few days ago to my Weber Q to mate up with the lp system on my new Flagstaff. The only issue I had was with the brass male quick disconnect coupling I purchased from CW. It was Mr. Heater branded. I couldn't get it into the brass female quick coupling. Turned out that the OD and profile were correct, but it was a full flow coupling. Whatever that meant. The ID had a sleeve which was soldered into it flush with the end of the coupler which wouln't allow it to fit around the center of the female coupler. I had removed it and the coupling would mate, but no gas flow. In looking at my stove coupler I could see it was counter bored by .200" which depressed the flow feature on the coupler. I reinstalled the sleeve at that depth and problem was solved. Or look to see, when you buy the coupler that this accomodation was turned in at manufacture of the male quick coupling. Other than that, I obtained a brass hex coupling 1/8 FNPT x 1/4 FNPT, a 5' high pressure lp hose w/ 1/4 MNPT on 1 end and 1/4 FNPT on the other end some teflon tape and you're in business

Yea I'm aware
Last year we had a thead and I talked to folks about converting my Coleman
For the hookup and I got my answer I just haven't gotten around to doing it
In my case the brass fitting on the regulator can be disassembled and then coupled to the quick disconnect line basically to eliminate the Grill's regulator (can't have two regulators)
For those out there reading this and suggesting splitting the RV's line
The 2860 has a quick disconnect port located behind an access door for a Grill that FR supplied with the unit
(We have a cool outside kitchen)
The grill is a basic unit that probably will make a good burger but those of us with Webers and Coleman's and the like don't want to loose these awesome grills and use the Basic Aussie that came with the RV
