Correct Tire Pressure?
I recently purchased a 390BH and noticed that the incomplete Feightliner chassis sticker above the driver's seat lists the correct cold inflation pressure as 110 psi on both the front and rear. The Forest River sticker, on the other hand, indicates 110 psi on the front but 90 psi on the rear duals. What pressure do you guys run on your 390BH's?

As with all coaches gas or diesel it is dependant on your weight. The listed numbers on the stickers are usually maximum inflation for a fully loaded rig at max weight. You really need to load the rig for a trip and then have it weighed at a truck stop or other such facility to determine your correct pressure. In many cases it can be quite a bit lower than what is listed on the sticker. On our rig we run between 80 and 90psi front and rear depending on how it's loaded. The best source of information is the web site of the tire manufacturer.

i weighed our rig. that is a must, then use the tire charts to correct your pressures like nwjeeper mentioned
and i run 90 out back and 98 up front
when i picked it up it was at 120 psi, BAM bam rough ride,

Any Berkshire 390BH owners on here that have actually had their motorhome weighed?

i run 110 psi all the way around I added pressure stems (not wireless) so i can just visually look to see if pressure has dropped. helped to put a 45 degree stem extender on the front tires to check / fill.

I weighed my coach and it came in at about 27.200lbs (9600 front and 17,600 rear) so according to the charts, the pressure should be about 95lbs front and rear, which is what I have mine set at. I have a wireless TPMS installed which makes monitoring the pressure very easy.

tmmar,
I installed both the brass ring on the front wheels and a wireless TPMS system on all tires, including my towed vehicle. I was shocked to see the pressure rise 10 to 20 lbs as the trip progressed. I realize expansion is a natural occurance but should I be concerned when the monitor reads a 20 lb increase?

I know this is an old thread - but thought it would be helpful for other owners to see what the coaches weigh and get some additional reference points.
We had our coach weighed today..
Front Left: 5200 lbs Front Right: 5190 lbs
Rear Left: 5120 lbs Rear Right: 8540 lbs
My first reaction - Holy Crap - someone must have made a mistake..
Any other owners see such a big difference in the Right Rear? I know this is where the Fridge / Washer / Dryer / Fresh Water tank / etc. sit.. Just wondering if this is normal..
I did NOT have the family in the coach at the time - but figure that is only about 250 lbs (small kids) or so - and that would be distributed mostly over the front..
Anyone able to validate the correct Tire Presssure I should be running?
Thank you,
Alex

No other Berkshire owners have all 4 wheels weighed?
I'm trying to validate these numbers and check for reasonableness..
Thank you..

Alex,
When I had mine weighed, they were not able to do each corner but if I were you, I would have the rear weight checked. The approx 13600 pounds of the rear coach seems low. Mine came in at 17600 lbs for the rear. With these weights, the charts said that 95 lbs pressure is correct.

Just a quick update.
I spoke to forest river today. They politely told me the rear weights could not be correct. I should be at approx 8500lbs per side for the rear and about 4500 per side for the fronts.
I will re-weigh the coach over the weekend and at least get total axel weights.

Forest River followed up and provided the following numbers:
FR - 4614 FL - 4586
RR - 8458 RL - 8362
This is for MY coach as it was when it left the factory. Apparently - they weigh each unit as it leaves. I thought this was pretty interesting..

Thank you all again for the advice.
I had the coach weighed at a CAT scale before our trip. This is close to
Loaded, minus a DW and kid.
Front: 10,020lbs
Rear: 17,280lbs
This seems to be in line with what FR told me and what others have posted.
The original weights I posted were obviously wrong. I still have not been able
To have each wheel weighed, and will keep trying.
I will also weigh the coach on the way back from the weekend - with everyone on board and post that tomorrow..

Just got back from the weekend..
Here are the updated weights with everyone and all the junk on board..
Front: 10,160 lbs
Rear: 17,520 lbs
This translates to about 100 - 105 psi Front and 95 psi Rear. I know the proper way is to weigh each tire to find out if one side weighs more than the other - but based on what FR told me and how tough it seems to find someplace to weigh the 4 tires accurately in my area - I think we are pretty good with the above.
