Yes. I have a Garmin dash cam that I use. Feel that if some asswatt cuts me off and causes and accident at least I have something to back me up!

Nathan,
Can't really put in print what I am really thinking or I may be banished from the site like some of our other Berkshire owners. But I'm sure you know what I mean. Get some real jerks out there that think that they can cut off a motor home and that it handles and stops like a car as far as braking and handling, which we all know is not true.

Aside from my laughter over "Asswatt".... I've been looking for a dash cam that's WiFi enabled so when the night shade is down I can see what's happening in front of the coach..... Anyone know of such a camera? #Asswatt! HAHAHAHA!!!

Audio is usually recorded unless you set it up not to record the audio. I hate to have them replay the video and listen to the audio! OMG! Not good! (LOL!!)

dash cam

Here's what I'm thinking to get. The coach is internet connected 24/7 so I'd be able to see what's happening whenever/wherever I want/am. Just debating 1 or 2 channel.....the idea of lying in bed and seeing what's happening in front (1 channel) or front and back (2 channel) is appealing. Not sure if wiring for rear would be compatible. Would like to simply replacing stock cheap rear camera with this one. Watch out asswatts...I've got you on video! #LoveThisForumCommunity

I don't know if any of the really small dash cams have wifi, but here is one that connects via WiFi or ethernet. Can view it on iPhone, droid or iPad. It has recording on the built in sd card and the video quality is awesome.

It will run on either 12 vdc or 110 vac (with the included converter).

I use my old IPhone 4S on the dash with a record app and works good and for me it was free because I didn't trade it in when I upgraded.

I have been using the RoadHawk RH-1 and the RoadHawk RH-2 for several years now in both of my vehicles. Measures speed, direction, forces applied on the vehicle (acceleration, impacts and braking) plus when coupled with your computer it plots everything on Google maps. With the RH-2 it also simultaneously records the interior of the vehicle to prove I wasn't texting or on the phone. Continually overwrites on an SD card but saves files when it is automatically triggered.

Take a look at the 4Sight Dashcam and GPS antenna. Also records Latitude/Longitude mapping, speed, G force, front and rear video, audio and shows your moving possition on a google map as you drive. Both camera lenses are adjustable 270*. I think I paid $185 for the cam and $45 for the optional GPS antenna.
I have one in my TV and one in my wife's Lexus. A picture IS worth a thousand words if you get into a wreck. I think it came with a 32gb mini SD card that does write-over when the card is full. Also has an internal rechargeable battery. Had mine for about 4 years and no problems.

Costco is selling the Cobra Drive HD Dash Cam for $89.00.

We have been using a dash cam for about a year now for the same reasons others do. I wish there was a way the Berkshire's side and back cameras could be wired to record. Add a front facing camera and you would have 360º coverage!

Nathan,

The only WiFi enabled Dash Cam I am aware of is the Cobra CDR 900. It's pricey ($199.95) but it has a iPhone app that allows you to remotely play the video so it would suit your needs.

I purchased this camera and it works great. Have had it for about 2 months now and so far I have been happy with it.

A couple years back I installed a 4 channel DVR and CCTV system. It allows me to record 360 degrees around the coach while I am driving and I can use it for security at a campground if I want to. I can record 64 hours of video and I installed one channel of audio at the front of the coach to record and conversation that might occur after a fender bender. System has worked great since install.
