De-winterizing Berkshire 34QS

We are attempting to de-winterize our 34QS. It has a tankless hot water heater. We have cold water but no hot. Is there a bypass valve somewhere? If so, where?

First welcome to the forum. No there is no bypass valve on the tankless system. Which brand tankless do you have?

If Gerard II, make sure the switch on the unit itself is on and make sure your propane valve on the tank is open.

Although probably not the issue, check that the valves in the water manifold are all turned on also.

We were told for the Atwood to work right it is a matter of water flow. Minimum of a gallon and ½

In the bay that you hook up your water, there are a number of valves that feed the coach systems. There is a cold and hot water valve for each sink, shower, etc.

Problem solved!!! Thank you. It was a valve we had overlooked .

We love our 34 QS. It is truly a home on wheels. In the beginning we had some problems but everything was taken care of by Mitch Wirt. He's a true professional dedicated to making sure Forest River owners are satisfied with a great product.

We love ours as well. Just need to get our Atwood heater working and we will be all set😭

We had problems with ours as well. Forest River put a new one in and we took the surge guard off the hose and it works great.

By surge guard, I assume you mean you took the pressure regulator off? It's not recommended to take them off but to get a higher quality adjustable pressure regulator.

We were told by Forest River that a pressure regulator was not needed because there is one built in to the system.

Talking about winterizing-we have never had a washing machine on our coach before and do now. Any help on how to winterize the washing machine would be great. Thanks, BZ

I just let the washer cycle till the anti freeze started going into drum, poured some into the drum from jug, then started rinse cycle a little to get some into the trap.

Make sure when you cycle that you use warm water. If you just use cold you will freeze the hot water line. Warm should get the pink stuff in the system.

We are really liking our 34QS. Traded in a 2016 Thor Hurricane 27K so no comparison. Added a TPMS, a flow rite battery quick fill kit and a shut-off valve on the shower. No serious issues so far. I do wish FR had included a smart steering wheel though. Significant improvement over a Thor.

Glad u r enjoying the 34qs. We have put a few thousand miles on ours and love it. Just need to get the Atwood heater working right and we will ok.
