We all have that. It's two separate systems. I don't doubt you I'm just confused as I was under the impression that all 2010 had DEF. the DPF and the regen that burns the soot is a separate system.

The DEF system cuts down on the exhaust emissions. This is done by injecting DEF directly into the exhaust. The regen is used to burn off any carbon build up in the exhaust. This is done by injecting fuel into the exhaust which creates extremely high temperatures to burn the carbon off. All newer Freightliner chassis have both systems.

If I wasn't confused before I'm sure I am now. I guess that could explain the DEF question as to how he could have DEF that old he doesn't. Almost reads like Joe trying to get his RV through the BMV with a chassis and build dates confusion.

We just went through Camp Freightliner this Tuesday and Mike Cody the instructor made not that Freightliner starts next model year production in May. So, a May 2016 chassis is manufactured for a 2017 coach.
