Dirty power?
While dry camping this weekend I encountered a strange situation. With generator running and the LED lights on in any room when I turn on water pump ceiling lights flicker rapidly turn the pump off flickering stops. Returning home and connecting to home shore power I tested it again and same thing happens so do I have a bad pump or gremlins in the wiring.

Check your transfer switch and make sure the wiring is tightly secured.

The pump and the lights operate on 12 volts don't they what would the transfer switch have to do with that just asking.

Wayne, if I'm not mistaken, everything goes through the transfer switch.

Only the generator and shore power go through the transfer switch. One horrible thought, Wayne. All of the DC connections like connectors and lugs are crimped. I sure hope that it is not a loose crimp; it would be difficult to find. Hank

Hank I'm with you I'm hoping it's a bad motor on the pump.

I have noticed the high speed Flickr on the lights, but I never associated it with the water pump or any other thing. I'll have to check and see if that is what makes mine Flickr.

Hank, so what you're saying is that none of the house battery current goes through the inverter/converter by way of the transfer switch?

Certainly can't offer an explanation but I can tell you LED lights have a few idiosyncrasies to them. First, they're polarity sensitive, so the only go in one way to get them to work. They also are very sensitive on grounding requirements. The strangest thing I've seen was on our last RV. I replaced the porch light with an LED that had a motion detector. While watching TV on over the air, the reception would suddenly just drop to nothing. Finally figured out it was happening every time the porch light came on! Truly strange!

Before you go looking for a needle in a haystack, The Convertor might be the cause of the issue. Does this happen just on Battery with the convertor turned off? If it only happens with the convertor on it is falling out of regulation and changing voltage based by higher current of the water pump. If it happens on both, bad pump.
As far as the post above. There are a bunch of bad LED lights that cause Radio Frequency Interference. This will cause interface to TV reception.

When you cut generator on or shore power both run 12 volt thur 12 volt relay.

Turn both on with just house battery and see if it flickers. No generator no shore power and no engine running.

Not to hijack here, but I also have something weird with my LED's. When the living room LED's are on, the bedroom LED's have a faint glow even though the bedroom switch is off. Maybe more sensitive to circuits d/t lower voltage requirements?

Rich,
I have noticed the same thing but it does not always happen though. Seems intermittent. Was going to have it looked at while at Goshen, but of course it didn't happen then.

I was going to also, Tom. But not really a big issue and they were so good about taking care of everything else, that I didn't bother.
