Being a Mechanic for 39 yrs i carry enough tools to fill a snap on tool truck
i have a torque wrench & multiplier so if i have to change my own tire i can, oh and a 50 ton air jack. if i think i might need it it's on board someplace and having worked on motor homes and tractor trucks i can say i might be ready for almost any problem ...i did say almost and i keep detailed notes on all the problems from this site big or small my father started this ,heck our hunting jeep was full of more stuff than we would ever need one trip he had 3 spare tires cause we hunted 50 miles in near big bend area and lots of cactus. so i blame it on him.

Sense Harbor Freight has been mentioned I looked at their latest sale flyer. This is a nice set for the money.

Home Tool Kit - Save on this 105 Piece Home Tool Kit

I have a set I have put together but this looks like a good place to start. I am sure I would add a few things but am always adding to the set I am using now, LOL!

Let see, need a hammer, duct tape, electrical tape, shrink wrap or wire nuts, wire ties, plumbers epoxy, aluminum tape, screw assortment, drill bits, level ect... I am sure I missed a few things such as compartment clip, nice to have for when one breaks. Oh ya, the Harbor Freight 18 volt cordless drill, flash light and 1/4" impact. Not the best but great for the trailer. My Ryobi one+ set is at home.

I try to keep the weight down but that is not easy. My tools are probably the heaviest thing I carry not counting water and propane.

What I don't have listed I probably have at home!

I listed the epoxy but did miss the bailing wire. Actually prefer a small roll of insulated wire. Has more uses. Also missed the bungi cords nylon ratchet straps.

And the list goes on!!!
