Changing out some of the upholstery. I've done all the window treatments. Next we're going to do the dinette fabric with leather. Also considering removing the small sofa and putting in a computer desk/cabinets. We also replaced all the hardware with something a little less dangerous.
It's hard to tell from the picture but the fabric is a silky fabric with the pattern being raised embroidery.
We did something a bit different. We swapped out the accordian style day/night shades for Rollease roller shades. It makes for a much easier use and you don't get the broken strings that seem to occur with the accordian style.
We're getting ready for our trip to the west (Tetons, Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, Rushmore and all points in between). I've been thinking about getting rid of the small sofa in the kitchen slide. I decided to take it out for the trip and replace it with a desk. No one ever sits on the small sofa. It's horribly uncomfortable and has a small seat depth. You always feel like you're going to fall off it. It also doesn't have seat belts so it's pretty much useless on trips.
We also find that the at night we all end up squeezed into the dinette. Kids are watching TV and wife an I are planning the next day on the computer or updating our travel blog.
I proposed to my wife we put a desk in the space instead.
Here are some pictures of how it came out.
I gave up trying to match the color to the cabinets. Nothing looked right and I figured we've already brought some black in with the new valances and the pillows my wife made.
An added benefit is our dogs crate can go under the desk while we're driving. His crate is normally in the isle between the small and big sofa. You had to climb over it to get to the back.
What I've been thinking about was taking the couch out put the rockers in place of the couch then I would not have to flip the chairs onto the couch when we close up the slides.
The desk is 2 inches shallower than original and about 10 inches shorter in the width. It's also a couple inches lower. I don't think there's a single part except for the door faces that I didn't alter.
We just purchased a new 2011 Berkshire - have yet to take it out on the road, due to health issues. Anyway, my question and wish is to change the decorative trim around the sink area. It doesn't match the decor of the dinette - almost looks like an error was done when the unit was being assembled. Love the mocha paisley look in the bedroom, the dinette is the dark chocolate brown done in a geometric pattern (not crazy about it) but the trim around the sink area is a scroll like pattern. Coloring goes okay but the overall look bugs me. No one will probably ever notice the difference except for me. Any thoughts on how to make some changes so the look in the kitchen area is cohesive? Thanks for your thoughts.
