Dometic Fan Question

Hope someone can help with this question. I've read a bunch of threads about the Dometic refrig cooling problem. I have a model RMS 1350 and I had a third fan installed and it seemed to help a lot with cooling. Last night I noticed the fans have stopped running. When they run I can hear them from inside the coach. None of the fans are working now and the refig temp has gone up to around 45. I think there is a thermister somewhere but not sure where to look. Does the thermister act like a fuse? Can anyone tell me where it is located and how to check it? Appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Don't know if it controls the fans or not, but the fridge thermostat is a small piece of plastic mounted on the fridge fins running just under the freezer. It has a wire attached and will slide up or down. Mine has fallen off a couple of times. Might check it.

Thank you I will check it. For whatever reason after about 24 hours of nothing the fans started working again. Refrigerator was up to 45 degrees but is now back at 36 which I think is normal.

I had similar problems. I have just purchased auxiliary cooling fans both interior and exterior.from.rvcoolingunit.com.

Having.them installed on Monday. Looking forward to excess cooling capacity

the thermister controls refridgerator temp. if it fails you over cool generally. a thermostatic switch controls the fan usually. you may have an intermittant open, loose connection or possibly the switch, that is causing your problem.

Thank you for your reply. I'll just have to wait and see how it goes. Working OK now.

The extra fan outside and the little fan inside sure helped my unit. Good luck.

I had a MH with a No Cold unit once it had a defrost cycle that would kick in to defrost the fins. Always amazed me that could not get decent cooling but would lose ground when it defrosted. Just maybe yours has a similar feature almost sounds like it.
