Dometic Ice Maker Problem

I have a 4 door Dometic refrigerator model 1350 in my 2010 Berk and my ice make has stopped making ice. I tried defrosting the freezer and it made one round of ice and then stopped working again. It tries to work but I'm starting to think it is not getting water. Can anyone tell me how to trouble shoot this issue?

Hello Nuzz. I have the same ice maker and had trouble figuring it out when I first got my coach because the dealership had winterized it and did not tell me what they had done to do that. Come to find out they had unplugged the pump in the outside compartment. Because of that issue I played with it a lot until I learned some stuff about it. What makes you think it is not getting water? On mine it was really difficult to tell because the water level is pretty low in the maker even when it is "full" of water. I could squeeze my pinky in there and just barely reach the water. Is the freezer temp okay? -Glenn

In your Dometic book is a map of electric diagrams for the refrigerator/freezer and ice maker. Note the water control solenoid for ice making is 117 volt time controlled open by the ice maker. Located on the outside compartment next to the cold water solenoid. You can check the solenoid opens and for how long. This will account most

Thanks for your reply. I am only assuming a water problem because the ice maker sounds like it's trying to work but does not cycle. I put my pinky finger in and did feel water but it was not frozen. The temp is good and everything is frozen and is staying frozen. When I defrosted the freezer yesterday morning and turned the ice maker after a few hours it produced one round of ice and then stopped. I';m just not sure how to trouble shoot this type problem.

Nuzz, I am at work and don't have my fridge/icemaker book handy, but I remember reading in the winterizing section about how to "cycle" through the fill and dump cycles. It had something to do with taking the cover off of the side of the ice maker itself (looked easy) and I believe there was something under that cover you turned by hand. That might be an option for you to see if you can get it to run a cycle using the manual method.

Thanks for your reply. I'll see if I can locate the solenoid and test it. Is that the blue (I think mine is blue) device at the end of the water tubing in the access panel behind the refrigerator.

Yes it is blue. I just removed my ice maker after 4th time of replacing the solenoid (it's called a water control valve)get the part number off it and go to amazon it is used on other refrigerators and is half the cost of the dometic

Make sure the wire arm is against the ice maker if it is up, that turns off the ice maker.

We always move the lever to the off position when not hooked up to water supply, the ice maker will try to cycle and not get any water and think that is hard on it.
