Yup! And I am clueless why Berkshire does not include them instead of the water filled ones!

I replaced my 4x "standard batteries" with AGM, $230 each, worth it, keep charge longer and they recharge quicker. They will last longer as well...

Same size, a few pounds heavier, they're Deka AGM, 220 amp, 6v I don't know model. I found the best price through a solar sales rep on the net. Paper work is back at home.

If you are frequently boiling the batteries dry, you might make some adjustments on your Magnum ME-ARC control.

In Setup > 01 System Setup > 01D Max Charge Amps. The default is 200 ADC. You could reduce that.

Setup > 03 Charger Setup > 03E, you can set a Max Charge Rate of less than 100%

I also seem to recall, but can't find in the manual, the ability to specify the Amp-hour capacity of the house batteries. I think mine is set to 400 AmpHours, although I think the real capacity is 440 AmpHours. I think that the Bulk Rate charging is set to 20% of the AmpHour rating, so I get about 80 Amps in Bulk charge. But, before I found that setting, it was closer to 90 Amps.

On mine the max rate is set directly in setup, in amps no percentages. Factory default was 80A. Yes, reducing that will reduce heat and thus evaporation.

Wonder why the 2016 box is different than the 2017

Where I did have to specify the battery capacity was after I added the condition monitor..... https://dragonship.blog/battery-monitoring-kit/
