Fwiw.....

All I ever got was a small paper stick-on tag about 1.25 x 3 inches, but nothing else. I got it just a week or two after the work was done.

It says:

Axle Alliance Company
Serial Number (then the actual SN) GAWR 12000 lbs
Part Number C10-00000-253 Model Number F12-3N
(Some bar code) 27110


I wonder if the discontinuance of the RB has anything to do with this whole issue?

I have received my Yellow Sticker and my upgrade is scheduled next month. I would rather have your sticker since it show that your FA GAWR is now 12,000 lbs, an improvement of 1,590 lbs over the original GAWR. The Yellow Sticker to me is a guide as to the OCCC, but what really counts is what you actually weigh in relation to GVWR and GAWR (imho)!

Wow, Edgewant, you went to town. I compared my BOM's (for the 390-40) against yours (for the 390-60) and have found the following ones to be identicle:
Suspension - Rear Axle
Shock Absorber - Rear

My rear axle has a P/N of C11-00002-000, whereas yours has a P/N of C11-00001-000. However, upon comparing the two parts lists, they appear to be the same. A mystery to me is that the parts list does not list parts for every item that is shown in the pictorial such as items 14, 15, 16, etc.

If you could, I'd appreciate your BOM Rear Axle Accessories. This BOM contains the axle's cone bearings which is an essential comparison. It wouldn't hurt to through in the BOM for Brake - Rear, just to be complete.

I am attaching my 390-40 BOM's with some additions.

Anyone else that can help would certainly be outstanding!

[Note that for some reason I do not see my attachments on my I-Pad, but do on my PC. Just in case that you have the problem]

I would guess that they will be the same. The 340 is not limited by the rear axel but by the Allison 2500 transmission in my opinion. Of course this is my guess and not fact. I thank you for looking into this further. The end result will be interesting but will not change the load carrying ability of for the folks that tow a toad. It will be a help if you don't and just have a lot of cargo.Again thanks for looking into this.

IMO, the Tiffin Allegro Red is probably the closest counterpart to the Berkshire. In looking over the Red's spec's. I see where the FA & RA GWAR, the GVWR and GVWR are the same as the Berkshire's (that is with the upgrade). So are the engine, transmission and 275/80 tires. I'm sure that many of yOu already noticed that. So this is for those that haven't.

This is is the new stickers I have. They listed the tires as 275/70 not 275/80. Not sure why or how big a deal it is.

One of the issues maybe that 275/80 max air is 110 lbs, while 275/70 max air is 120 lbs.

FYI for model 390 Berkshire owners: The 2014 400 series Berkshire lists the FA GAWR as 12,000 lbs and has 275/80 tires. I am sure that we all knew it was coming. However FR still needs to do something with the RA GAWR. To do this, they need to use the Allison 3000mh on all models IMHO. FR's desire to have two power option choices puts a damper on my suggestion. Also FYI, the 360hp Cummins is the same engine as the 340hp, except for a chip change. Therefore the big difference in the two power options is the Allison.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that the difference between the 340 and 360 is just a chip change. When I changed the oil in my 340 it took 16 quarts with the filter. My new coach with the 360 takes 18 quarts with the filter. Also, the main fuel filter on the 360 is different than that on the 340. So-there are these 2 differences and not sure what other differences in the engine that may exist.
