ducted a/c
Just learned an interesting fact at the factory today. I asked Randy if my 14 had ducted air. He said yes and told me that I need to close the slide on the inside air conditioner to activate. I did and guess what? Air out the ducts. Am I the only knucklehead that didn't know this?

The vent on the a/c is called a quick kool dump to rapidly cool the trailer middle section.

knuckle head is such a harsh word .... but well um so how's it working now? It's funny the things you find out about these MH's. They are so complicated.

I do have to say that those little slide tabs are pretty hard to see my particular unit. But I did know they were there from day one. :-)

When we get to camp on a hot day, we pop the vents on both A/C, turn on the ceiling fan, and run 'em for about 20 min while we are setting up. Cools the unit off real well.
Our 5er's LR A/C is way up there - found out the best way to open/close the vents is to use a campfire hot dog roaster

Thanks for all the support everyone. I haven't camped yet, but am taking a long trip in Aug to Colorado. The air is coming out of all ducts and it is much quieter. Cajun, have not experienced the snow yet. Phil, you're right, it is a learning experience. Keeps you on your toes! Great thing about this forum is the sharing of the experiences of all.

It's the little things in life that give us the most joy. Especially the quiet at night when the main vent on the AC is closed!
Don't feel bad, When I bought the first trailer the old man said "never close that" while pointing to the vent. "It gets to damn hot in here if you do." After taking possession and going over everything, I noted the round things on the ceiling. "What are these I says to myself as I gently pushed on one." Ahah! These be vents that open and close and look they are all closed. Open em up I do, turn on the A/C and behold cold air flowing every where! Then I close the big vent on the A/C, Yippee EYE AYE! Much more flow and much quieter.
Until then I have never seen vents that open and closed like that, These were nearly the same color as the ceiling and being colored blind I had a heck of a time seeing em at all. I've never seen them since, but I'm sure they are out there someplace. (It would be a nice standard issue luxury)
It was my first travel trailer with amenities. My little pop-up had nothing but a sink, a stove and a cooler! I loved that trailer! (Palomino Colt? I think?)

Had our trailer a little over a year and still snow. Wife and I decided that when the snow stops it's time to trade it in. Think it's going to be many many more years.

I feel like we got ripped off from FR. Our snow only lasted for the first few months on our 14! Warranty claim.

I'd love to use the ducts but when I close our main vent off, very little air comes out of the duct work. So little, a few of them won't stay open. I assume it's blocked somewhere but have no idea really how to check. Even with the minimal air flow, I know what you all mean by snow...

I found that by closing the "kool dump" in the bedroom and also all the ducted vents in the rear of the coach, that most (all) of the cooling capacity of the rear AC is channeled to the front part of the coach.
Sort of a "helper" for the front AC on super hot days. Like 111 in Pahrump, NV last month!! 
And since I'm rarely in the rear if the MH during the day I don't need the BR AC until bedtime.
Even so, the "kool dump" setting seems to be the most efficient, except for the additional noise.

Me too, on the airflow from the ducts. But I've NEVER had any "snow".
